The sculpture points to its own location on the map of Sweden while simultaneously testing the site’s capacity for balance. The project is a process based on Sweden’s geographical center.
In 1947, the magazine ALLT together with researchers from KTH, constructed a method to locate the center of Sweden by balancing a jigsaw-cut model of the Swedish map on a sharp point.
Using a similar approach, the sculpture creates an awareness of its placement in relation to the country’s borders.
